Meet Coach RJ — U.S. National Master & Founder of Chess Comic Academy
Hi! I’m RJ, the creator of Chess Comic Academy and a U.S. National Master with years of experience teaching children of all ages.
I previously served as a head coach and co-founder of a major youth chess academy in New York, where I helped hundreds of students improve, build confidence, and compete successfully in local and national tournaments to become state champions up to Master level.
Now based in Jacksonville, Florida, I’m excited to bring high-quality, fun, and engaging chess instruction to families in Jacksonville, St. Johns County, Nocatee, Ponte Vedra, and surrounding areas.
My Teaching Philosophy

Kids learn best when they are engaged. I use customize comic-style stories, patterns, puzzles, and interactive games to make lessons enjoyable.

Students learn tactics, strategy, opening principles, endgames, planning, and thought process in a structured, kid-friendly way.
